1960s illustrations for Don Quixote from around the worldAtuyoshi Sugimura, 1966
In 2010 I did a series of posts on illustrations for Don Quixote, pulling from the labyrinthine Cervantes Collection at the Cushing Memorial Library & Archives. I was browsing there again and stumbled on many wonderful interpretations from the 1960s.Atuyoshi Sugimura, 1966Roberto J. Páez, 1969
Also featured Páez's Quixote in one of the first posts I did for But Does it Float.

I'm cheating with Herreros: the book was published in 1964 but the works were created between 1948 and 1960. (One of the physically heaviest books I own is a Spanish-language book of Herreros' posters. I hope to feature it soon.)
