I'm not sure how I stumbled on "J.B's" 2008 picasa gallery "UA_Ancient_Embroidery." I hoped to find out more about these scans before featuring them—I've been staring at them for months in disbelief—but laziness prevailed, so here's a blurb on embroidery from wikipedia:Ukrainian embroidery occupies an important place among the various branches of Ukrainian decorative arts.
